Status of our two bills to amend the Medical Practice Act:
SB-213...is to be heard in House Business and Industry hopefully on Tuesday afternoon. Please call House B&I committee members and ask that it be heard and passed. (List of members is available under Advocacy&Legislation >Contact Legislators>Standing Committees).
HB-188...rumors are that Trial Lawyers are trying to amend the Medical Malpractice Act by amending HB-188. The bill sponsor, Rep. Jim Trujillo, is adamantly opposed to changing the bill in that manner and would ask to "table the bill" if such an amendment were proposed. The bill is currently waiting to be scheduled for House Judiciary. Please keep calls and emails to House members coming!
