Committee Substitute for HB-188 Unacceptable

The House Judiciary Committee Substitute for HB188 and accompanying summary of “what it does” is posted on the members only tab Advocacy & Legislation> Legislation Updates. These amendments were proposed by the Trial Lawyers and are unacceptable as they are very different than the approved proposals put forth by NMMS on Friday morning to Rep. Park. Bill sponsor Rep. Trujillo will ask to table the bill if the attached substitute is submitted. Based on professional review, this substitute bill would drive carriers from the state if passed.
The original and untouched SB213 will be heard by the House Business and Industry Committee this afternoon.
