Community Service Award

The NMMS Community Service Award was established in 2000 by four past- Presidents (Drs. George Bunch, Peter Beaudette, Allan Haynes Jr., Stephen Haynes) in honor of their fathers (C. Pardue Bunch, Robert P. Beaudette, Allan L. Haynes Sr.) who were also past-Presidents.

The award is given to a member who dedicates their heart, mind, and time to community service. A donation of $500 is given to a charity of the winner’s choice.

Members are nominated by their colleagues. Nominations must be submitted in writing to the Society office before January 1st of each year.

The qualifications of nominees include:

1. Be a member of the NM Medical Society.
2. Be living, awards are not presented posthumously.
3. Have an outstanding record of community service, which apart from their medical practice reflects well on the profession, e.g., community involvement, coaching, volunteering, etc.

Submissions must include the name of the nominee and their contact information, the name and contact information of the NMMS member submitting the nomination, and an explanation of why the candidate should be considered for the Community Service Award.
