The New Mexico Medical Society [NMMS] is committed to the safeguarding of its online users’ privacy. The following principles reflect our rules and procedures in handling personal information provided to us over the Internet.

NMMS collects and secures information from members [including credit card numbers] who wish to transact their dues payments online – both for new applications and annual renewals.

In order to facilitate access to members-only content, NMMS collects member profile information [name, address, telephone and fax numbers, email address, medical license number, specialty, medical school, year of graduation, faculty affiliation and other information] for our database.

Through our Doctor Finder feature, members are given the opportunity to create their own individual professional profile that is made available to the public. NMMS members are responsible to monitor their profiles and to review and correct their membership data as needed.

NMMS will use email addresses to distribute our newsletter as well as other in-house electronic mailings. Email addresses are not shared with or sold to third parties.

NMMS provides hard copy mailing lists or printed labels with names and addresses of members that are available for sale. The membership database is not made available in an electronic form to any vendor. The mailing lists are typically used for communications that are germane to the practice of medicine or of interest to physicians. The sale of membership lists is carefully controlled by the NMMS office.

NMMS uses cookies. A cookie is a small amount of data sent to your browser, stored on your computer’s hard drive, and aids in navigating our website. The cookie helps us to know who you are and to measure traffic on our website.

NMMS takes extensive measures to ensure the safety and security of our website and is protected from unauthorized access by a series of sophisticated software protection programs.

NMMS Refund and Cancellation Policy

The New Mexico Medical Society [NMMS] does not refund membership dues or other online payments for products or services.

NMMS reserves the right to cancel a membership. In the unlikely event of a violation of membership ethics or behavior, NMMS will cancel membership without a refund.

NMMS reserves the right to amend these policies at any time. Amendments will be posted at this location.
