Continuing Education Courses

  • Courses for Medical Office Professionals: Proudly brought to you by NMMS and the Greater Albuquerque Medical Association (GAMA) in collaboration with the Practice Management Institute (PMI), these courses are crafted to equip you and your team with essential knowledge and tools for effective medical office management. Classes are scheduled to begin on May 23, 2024 and will run through December 12, 2024. Find more information on the Practice Management Courses page of the NMMS website.
  • Required DEA Course: The Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act was included in the omnibus spending bill passed by Congress in 2022. Effective June 27, 2023, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) requires healthcare practitioners to complete substance use disorder training before applying for or renewing their DEA registration certificate. NMMS offers a self-paced, online education course that satisfies both the 8-hour course required for DEA registration and the 5-hour NMMB requirements for training on the management and treatment of patients with opioid or other substance abuse disorders. Find more information on the MATE Act DEA Course page of the NMMS website.
